General Questions
APS offers psychoeducational assessments, Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs), ERMHS evaluations, Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), RSIA/SCIA assessments, and—upon consultation—Speech and Occupational Therapy assessments. Services are available for both private-pay families and school districts.
We work with early childhood, children, adolescents, and young adults, typically ages 3–22. We also provide assessments for adults who are seeking diagnostic clarity or documentation for educational, workplace, or accommodation purposes.
Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE)
An IEE is an evaluation conducted by a qualified professional not employed by the school district. Parents may request an IEE if they disagree with a district’s evaluation.
Your school district must provide written authorization. Once approved, you may contact APS to begin scheduling.
IEEs may involve record review, interviews, standardized testing, observations, and a comprehensive written report with recommendations. The scope is determined by the district’s authorization and the student’s needs.
Yes. We attend IEP meetings to review findings, answer questions, and support collaborative planning.
Private Evaluations
Private evaluations are often more comprehensive and address concerns that may fall outside the scope of school assessments. Reports include diagnostic impressions and recommendations for school and home.
Yes. We conduct diagnostic evaluations for ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and other learning or behavioral conditions.
APS does not bill insurance. Some families may seek out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill can be provided upon request.
Most evaluations take 3–6 weeks from intake to final report, depending on scheduling and complexity.
