When parents disagree with a school’s evaluation or believe additional information is needed, they have the right to request an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) at public expense. APS provides thorough, objective IEEs that support accurate eligibility decisions and meaningful IEP development.
Our IEEs may assess the following areas, depending on the referral concerns:
Cognitive functioning
Academic achievement
Phonological processing & reading
Memory & learning
Processing speed
Executive functioning (attention, planning, organization)
Social-emotional and behavioral functioning
Autism assessment (including ADOS-2)
Functional rating scales (parent/teacher)
Classroom observation(s)
Review of educational records
Every IEE includes a comprehensive written report with clear explanations and practical recommendations for home and school.
APS regularly conducts IEEs for districts across the Inland Empire and Southern California. We maintain professional communication, adhere to district timelines, and ensure our evaluations are thorough, objective, and aligned with IDEA requirements.
